Show #175, Release date: 4. September, 2011

I found an amazing recording out of Providence, Rhode Island from Roger's 2000, "In The Flesh" tour. The name of the bootleg is "Devine Providence" and its the source for this podcast.  The quality was excellent without tweaking but as usual, it's been doctored up for super sound, big time.  In addition to the EQ'ing and whatnot, I removed (as best I could) as much wooo'ing, whistling, and any other annoying crowd noise.  I explain more in the podcast but this could totally pass for an official recording. Hope you dig it.

Providence Civic Center, Providence, Rhode Island, 16. July, 2000.

  • Yah! It got thru - & u responded; I'm flattered: in that case, gonna say it again: these are f*#¤ing superb.(see my other comment on latest cast): if I get just one grudging 'it was intersting' to mine, I'm delighted - someone (is there , really, anyone out there?) heard/appreciated makes it all (well almost) worthwhile.
And the repair/retake etc. jobs you do, like on the US 77 gigs .. that's so impressive real fanship (most grateful one here), so DO, DO keep on trucking: of which incidentally, on hearing final Montreal has converted a few friends to PF, one who even previously always thought WYWH "too maudlin" (fair assessment): so 'oh, and by the way' (PFM et al!), proof postive that, ahem, 'non official' recordings can convert into revenue for the official stuff.
Hope the appreciation comes through strong enough (or 'Is your [appreciation] strong enough' to paraphrase a DG guested track, huh? :-)

  • Hei 'Doc': no way are you 'wasting [your] time'...
Fabulous selections: only just found this through Mojo mag playlist recommendation (UK Dec iss.):
with what you play, guess you can't be too critical of the onverall still persisting laziness of the remaining Floyd members to do a true (caring!) archive job like most of their contemporaries have long ago done now (eg Jimmy Page LZ type) - and despite the well placed/sourced DG snippet on providing 'pristine' live stuff (where/when was that from?): I present a modest prog on a local community radio, but decided to play best of tribute versions for this reissue frenzy (Out Of Phase etc.): still, rest assured, your efforts on these IS most admired/appreciated.

  • Really disappointed with the lack of comments. I don't usually publish stats but in the last two weeks this podcast has had over 1500 downloads. Not bad, not great... but with only 6 comments. Have to admit, it makes me feel like I'm wasting my time.

  • I met a young guy in a Pink Floyd T-shirt in a Casino in Leeds. I told him about this show,
Lets see if he turns up?
Good to see a younger generation finding Floyd.

  • Thanks for this show. Maybe the best version of Time ever.

What is the bonus stuff after the concert? Surround channel bits with Have A Cigar at the end?
