Show #163, Release date: 2. December, 2010

Okay, it's been a long time no hear... It's podcast time.  This was my seventh show and hopefully I'll get to see more but for now this will be the last of 'The Wall Concert Series'.  For this, its the 6th of November from New York's Madison Square Garden. It was my first time at MSG and I thought it was interesting (and annoying) how venue's concession people were hawking during the show.  You may notice a few "ice cold beers here" and the refreshing sound of one or two being cracked open. The Band sounded great and it comes across nicely on the recording, but it did need a little doctoring up.  Enjoy and thanks for being so patient.

  • Doc - glad you know you're feeling better, but I'm thinking the job is slightly more important than the cold. Shite month eh? Positive perhaps you have more time to study - ? Got some ideas you might be interested in, so will ping them through or contact me directly. To jobs and clear ears - the show must go on!

  • (reprinted from my TicketMaster review)

I have seen this show twice now. This Monday my family and I sat in the upper extreme left loge at Staples center and I have to say they were about the worst seats imaginable. This mammoth show with it's lavish presentations projected across the width of Water's wall we...re almost impossible to appreciate at such an oblique angle and much of the show was obstructed by the rigging and speakers hung above the stage. A really terrible angle; one is left feeling slightly ripped off. The music was great, of course. Tuesday night I went with my wife and sat 8th row center, on the floor, with tickets procured through Water's own site. Giant, towering character puppets played against a giant towering wall under construction while powerful and sometimes disturbing graphics and animations projected on it's surface assaulted the viewer while the band's crunching, loud, clear and faithful recital of Pink Floyd's opus pounded through one's solar plexus and raised hairs on the back of the neck. Ultimately, the wall fell down and seemed it might crush us all in the first rows. I got to sit so close to my hero, Roger Waters, I could practically count the wrinkles and white hairs on his wonderful head. It was as perfect a concert experience as I will hope to see.

  • Thanks! Actually the further back, the better because you can see everything. The front is nice too but you miss a lot. My favorite place is by the soundboard on the floor.
