  • @Loïc... Thanks. The PayPal link does work. I just tested it. Not sure what other link you are referring to.

  • Hi Doc from Philly!

Thank you very much for this pre'mmersion! Great job as usual. I tried to make a donation but the Paypal link doesn't work. Nor does the URL you provided on another comment... Any idea?

Speaking of immersion, do you (and everyone else here) think we could set up some kind of petition with Pink Floyd management or EMI to request Immersion sets (or at least Experience sets) of other albums? Especially the early albums such as Piper or Atom Heart Mother or the bits and pieces that became Echoes... Or even that "satellite" album that was sorta kinda announced as a companion to The Division Bell? At the Dark Side reception in NYC a few weeks ago Nick Mason mentioned that there might be a chance that some more sets see the light of day... Maybe we could make our voice heard to make that happen?

    Thanks again!

  • Thank-you Doctor, Dark Side of the Moon has always been my favorite Pink Floyd. After listening to this podcast I have a strange urge to twist one up and see if I can find my old copy of "Dark Side of Oz".

  • @Masermn1284... The Official 74 Wembley gig is sourced from Floyd's own archives and compiled from the all the Wembley gigs (14th thru the 17th Nov). The same method was/is used on all of Floyd's officially released live albums.

  • There has been discussion on some Floyd sites about the Wembley concert in the recent immersion set. No where is it mentioned a specific date or if this is the soundboard or BBC broadcast. It seems to me under scrutiny that it is a compilation of several of the dates. Could you enlighten us please Doctor?

  • Hey Doc,
in honor of the Occupy Wall Street protests, how about a show featuring Floyd's/Waters' most socially conscious works?

And thanks for the cool podcast!

I saw two and with my memories and your music I was able to vicariously enjoy so many great shows. Thanks for all your work in bringing all that great music to us. Now on to the DARK SIDE OF THE MOON...

  • In the early 70's I argued with my mates as to whether to see the floyd or led zep - being in school we could not afford both. Many said no point in seeing PF as it will be just like the album. Now at last I can win the argument !

  • Thank you Doc. I am once more most grateful to you and your endlessly renewed inspiration. We probably all feel the same, but I have the impression that each single track was especially written for me.

PS. To the attention of your French speaking fans (and to the others): from 9 to 12 (CET) on next Sunday, there will be a PF dedicated radio programme on Classic21 (http://www.rtbf.be/classic21/)

  • I agree with David's opening, the quality of the bootlegs - in the day, when we were growing up, swapping them at school - was disappointing. However the more recent efforts, by you Matt and the Beasts etc, mean the quality is great - and even if not tip-top adds a welcome variety in the catalogue. Let's not forget the Floyd were a live performance band first and foremost, and I appreciate the live stuff now to complement the slick studio productions. OK, so I'm in - Liked the FB page - and now waiting expectantly, like a child at Christmas, for my present. If it's from Santa Matt so much the better, but I'll have my hands on it one way or another before too long - AL
