- Conratulations for the _first_ hundred shows! I stumbled across this site yesterday and right away downloaded about ten of the tastiest podcasts from the past years and even had the time to listen to several of them already. Thank you for the effort you put to all this, you've got yourself another active listener. Waiting for the next one eagerly...
- Hey Doc,
Congratulations for the #100 show. Nº99 and 100 have been awesome shows. People are the web so it´s very cool you integrate listeners to the show.
We´ll be looking forward for the next 2008 episode.
Have a nice new year.
Regards from Chile, South America
Felipe K - hey doc,
thanks for including me in the podcast. i really liked the hillbilly music in the background. bummer that you didn't have/play the version from the rehersal in 1980. that recording always gets a bad review for some reason, but i like it. but it's cool. i'm showing my age by telling you that i was 12 when abitwp2 came out, and i too hated school and felt like that song was speaking to me, and then to get that album later on and i was blown away (as we all were i'm sure).
anyway, keep up the good work
jeff
- Based on all the interviews they've given since Live8... its well known Richard won't do anything without David if it has to do with Floyd collectively. David is done with it and thats that... once he's made up his mind, its hard to convince him otherwise. David is interested in doing his own thing and so is Richard (not to mention turning down every invite from Roger and understandably so)... Nick is just going with the flow and has his car company and racing to keep him busy, but he IS open to Floyd getting on with it but ONLY in a charitable fashion.
- true Max the rumour mill has gone into over-drive already
the only opinion I could give is that there's never been a festival that I know of that has ever allowed any artist, regardless of who they are, to do a set list that lasts over 2 hours
mind you as the saying goes "never say never"
another point to consider though is the recent bbc docu chatting to all the members of Floyd
Richard Wright and Nick Mason came across as desperate to get on the road doing floyd music again, both are resigned to the fact that David Gilmour won't want to just yet, so personally it's my opinion that we may well see Roger Richard and Nick appearing together on a festival basis this year, that would be something
- not sure if they'll be doing stuff next year because of his new album
and
the three dates he's announced for 2008!!!
think it's going to be a festival tour as the 3 announced so far are:
denmark
holland
usa
plus there will be new songs and a new album to include on the tour, I hope :)
check out the usual news sites for up-to-date info

- Hi dognamedblue;
The documentary certainly added a little extra instead of just being the usual Floyd history lesson.
I'd like them to work together even if they don't tour, and only do a few one-offs, because I'd like them to come up with some new material rather than do "Pulse". I'd be interested in what they could do if they could collaborate creatively once again, with the benefit of lessons learned. - hey tony
personnaly thought that was one of the best floyd docs I've seen
I think DG is just getting his own back, don't blame him, but I think roger goes a long way with his genuine apologies, well with rick at least
and I think that's a key factor for DG
but even then I think it would be just one off shows
but it was a great show - Thanks, Doc, for informed, intelligent and consistently great podcasting.
Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for 2008 to you and Floydians worldwide.
Incidentally, there was a documentary here on BBC 1 last week, a one-hour potted history of Floyd, in which Roger, Rick and Nick were very positive about a proper re-union; Dave remains to be convinced, but although he's quiet and polite, he's a strong personality - so I wonder if he's just playing a little hard-to-get for pride's sake?
Here's hoping.
- I think this podcast is cursed!
everytime I try and get to listen to it
someone or something comes along to stop me
so far it's sounds great, congrats on so many
oh and another tuppence to the whole can he can't he debateI like the Doc on the podcasts, part of the reason for listenig
keep on truckin' er as they say
all the best to you & yours for christmas and the holidays
andy.
- Doc.
you are the man!!
Congratulations on number 100. A big thank you for playing my favourite Floyd track, complete with my intro, (I could never be a broadcaster as I hate to hear my own voice.)
Also, thanks for the little bit of bagpipe music in the background!!
As a Scotsman, I will be celebrating Hogmanay in style, and on the stroke of midnight, will raise a glass of good malt to your health, and to the next 100 shows. - Hi Doc, Thank you for this #100 Christmas present and for all the wonderful work that you have done over the past years in sharing this incredible volume of musical art work. I truly hope that you and your family have a Happy and Peaceful Holiday. Know that we are all awaiting your first Podcast in 2008. Merry Christmas!!!
