Show #150 Release date: 16. April, 2010

For this special edition of Brian Damage, accompanying us is RonToon of Harvested Records to discuss what Harvested does and to focus on their incredible sounding upgraded version of "BBC Archives 1967-1969".  The liner notes say "This release required a lot of work and took more than 6 months to complete. The purpose was to present each track in the best possible quality. The process was long because it was performed on a track by track basis. For each song, we had to compare many different sources in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each version and then decide which one(s) to work on. The mastering work was done very carefully, trying to repair every flaw that could be corrected... and there were a lot (tape warble, crackles, drop-outs, incorrect speed, etc)."  Enjoy!

Note: The Harvested release contains more tracks than whats here.  Mmwwahahahaaa!

  • Thanks for this one Doc,& Ron of course. Looks good, hope to get a chance to listen to it soon. Always wanted to hear the 67 version of 'Set the Controls' with Syd. I remember when you last included these sessions back on show 77, you hadn't found that track yet, or 'Reaction in G' so thanks again...

  • The tracks sound great and it kind of makes up for me not being able to see Roger live this year .I've seen every tour he's done but $165.00 for cheap seats ? I just can't do it.

  • Hey Doc
in your show "71 Montreux Master Reels"
you said that you did nothing to the files as harvested had said they would be creating a remastered definitive version in the near future. so you would wait and then after they had done their job you would remaster it and see whose sounded the best like a competition. Well after listening to this I don't think you will need to, your time would be probably best sent super sounding up something else. The opposition is good.
Will you be featuring the other 7 songs from this set on a future show or are you going to make me go to yeeshkul and get them? Please don't make me.

As i was listening to Point Me At The Sky lyrics
"And if you survive till two thousand and five"
The year Brain Damage was born, its a prophecy telling of the coming of the greatest show ever made.

  • Thank you for all that you do for us, Doc !
A great thing would be the complete show of the Theatre des Champs-Elysees, Paris, on 1970 january 23rd, without cut in "Amazing Pudding"'s 3rd part voices, and complete Set The Controls and ASOS !
