Show #127 - Release date: 28. February 2009 This podcast was taken from a bootleg called "The Good & The Bad." I left out the bad and give you the good but still lots of tweaking was necessary for this one. Originally Floyd was scheduled for the 21st but a second show was added at the last minute. Both shows were recorded by EMI and later had pressed white-label acetates, which included an interview with David in French. Not much came from these recordings but it's likely they would of been used for promotional purposes and not for commercial release. Super Pop '70 VII, Casino de Montreux, Montreux, Switzerland, 22. November 1970. Set One: 01. Astronomy Domine 02. Fat Old Sun 03. Cymbaline 04. Atom Heart Mother (21, Nov 70) Set Two: 05. The Embryo (21, Nov 70) 06. Green Is The Colour 07. Careful With That Axe Eugene 08. Set The Controls For The Heart of The Sun Encore: 09. Blues 10. Just Another 12 Bar Running Time: 01h:56m:46s Comments[21]

- sorry about that , Doc
MY Bad....!
not very strong keyboarding skills here in the ol' South.
Nothing but gratitude for ya & your contributions to the Floyd Fan Community.
( thanks for realizing the "i" & the "o" are within clumsy-distance of one another....)
Peace.

- Boy, I can tell you worked hard EQ'ing and correcting this thing. It wasn't always a winning battle, but you won the war. Lots of stereo panning from left to right, that's for sure. Lots of audio drops that are somewhat distracting from a pretty musically stellar show.
But fear not. This version of "Careful With That Axe Eugene" is mesmerizing and feels utterly new. Truly transfixing. But then, doesn't every version? I never ever get tired of any version of this song. Marvelous. "Set the Controls For the Heart Of The Sun" has inarguably sub-par sound, but the keyboard work by Rick Wright is brilliant. He was SO under-rated.
I'd like to thank the bootleg title "Echoes From the Garden". If I hadn't googled that, I doubt I would have been led by association to this wonderful site 8 months ago. I was worried that I missed the party and the Doc would have run out of quality material. I was wrong - I LOVE the 'kids' version of "Breathe" from the 'For the Kids' podcast. Totally trippy.
I'd especially like to thank the Man Who Has Come To Be Known As The Doc. At age 35, I have been the biggest Floyd fan, enraptured with them for 17 years. What sets Doc's podcast apart is that he has an eye for history and postery. You really cannot get a complete appreciation of this band's monumental early '70s live work without this archive. I tip my hat to you sir, and curse George W for cutting away my options for thanking you in a more fiduciary manner. (ie money.)
