Show #109 Release date: 19. April, 2008

Fellow Brain Damaged listener, Golgo Hakase of Japan created this podcast featuring an excellent recording from Floyd’s 1972 Japanese Tour at Nakanoshima Sports Center, Sapporo,  Hokkaido, Japan, 13 March, 1972.  So, I’m going to take the back seat on this part of the journey, besides I could use a little break.  For those of you going to Denver to see Roger Waters, I’ll see you there!!!  In the meantime please enjoy Golgo’s creation.  It’s nicely done and doctor approved.

  • Really good stuff Golgo, really enjoy hearing a pre darkside show... It's incredible to think how that evolved into such an outstanding piece of vinyl! Like some of the more current too, acoustic SOYCD was real nice addition! Thanks for your efforts!

  • Good idea for a Podcast Maff..Another great show as usual. The early DSOTM from Japan is great, been wanting to hear that one for a while.A great version of Careful with that axe,as well.Love the way this track changed from 68 to 72,faster but more soulfull in the early versions, then slower but much more agressive in 72/73 shows.Dunno which i prefer really...

  • Hey Doc,
If you can't pick a favorite list, put all song that yyou like in a playlist, i'm guesing that would be quite alot, then hit shuffle, then find a good live version of the first song it plays and that can be song number one, and so on until time is up, could be a podcast with no theme but a playlist chosen by your ipod, why not throw all the songs in there including solo and such, but make sure there is only one version of each song so they all have a fair chance.
    just an idea

  • VERY Good job by Golgo Hakase of Japan.

ok Doc, you've had that MUCH-DESERVED 'little break'.

Soon, how about "Doc's Favorite Floyd Fix" with your own personal high rotation Floyd playlist and a gloss of each cut and why it deserves its spot...?

  • Hi Matt,

Wow, great podcast!!! I'm enjoying it now ... Thank you so much. It's always nice to see some other contributions of Snowy White's in there and I'm thrilled when you point out any of his work with the band (or otherwise as he is definitely under-rated)!

I can't wait to meet you in Denver!!!

Hugs ahead ... and good times ...

    Ciao,

    Gina

  • March 1972 - exactly a year before DSotM was officially released. It will be interesting to see how much the songs changed before the band was happy with the result. Thanks Golgo & Doc.
