Show #128 - Release date: 15. March 2009

Here's an excellent soundboard recording from the Orange Bowl in Miami, 1. November, 1987.  It was a very rainy evening.  So much so that it kept the Pig from making an appearance.  As the show progressed, so did the rain.  Listen closely for the delicate sound of thunder off in the distance while Gilmour comments on the weather.

This recording had several glitches repaired before it landed in my lap but I noticed a few others that got over looked.  I repaired those, lifted the sound and gave it a wider presence, EQ and all that jazz.  Enjoy!

  • Wow, just wow. I honestly think this is better than PULSE. The Comfortably Numb solo is just insane!! And i\'ve always loved On The Turning Away. I\'m so glad I found this site.

  • I was browsing the podcasts... this one sparked some memories. This was the first concert I ever went to, still have the t-shirt! It indeed was rainy, but it added to the effect of the green lasers that shot over the audience.

  • another nicely doctored podcast, Doc. Like the different Echoes, too. And I look forward to discovering your 'secret' attachments with each podcast - were the mouth noises your's?

I was at the Floyd concert on Jan 23, 1988 at Western Springs, Auckland, New Zealand when their 1988 World Tour began so this is very familiar material.

  • Thanks Doc, another great show to help fill the workday.
That's definately the best Echoes I've heard from the '87 band - but even at it's best there is still way too much Gary "Timbale Flam" Wallis rattling away incessantly. Good Decision to drop it from the set.

  • ..Amazing show Doc. Been waiting for this one since you gave us brief glimpses of it in some of your mixed shows. Who needs Delicate sound of thunder on CD when you can hear an (almost) complete Soundboard show of this quality?! Thanks again...

  • Doc;Thank you for the music, I found the site when searching the web for floyd info, I have been a floyd nut for years but just recently have become more proficient w/ the computer (it must be my age)so I found you by accident, the pod casts make my lab much more interesting but more people seem to be hanging around lately. Thanks again man, I don't have to pay attention to the cd player anymore I can just work all day. Mike

  • I have just recently found this site and must say your podcasts are wonderful ,I have been a floyd fan since 1969 and listen to them more than all other music combined , have all of the floyd's albums and some roio's but your library is the most indepth I have come across how do you get your hands on this material ? I design & build medical cryogenics and play your podcasts in my lab all day long, it is great to have hours of uninterupted floyd to creat by, thanks. If you have time I would be interested in hearing how you find so much floyd
