- Zounds. Fantastic work, and greatly appreciated. I've been coming here for a little over a year, and for a long-time Floyd fan interested in hearing "new" stuff but without the time or energy to devote to membership in the various Lossless Clubs, this place is the one-stop-shop on the Web. Thanks for now and forever.
- \'Money\' is as ackward as ever - NEVER understood its appeal - but \'Travelling Sequence\' and \'Mortality Sequence\' are fascinating. The \'Breathe\' clip is worth as well.
I only wish the real Docs I meet in life were as courageous, competent and fun as what you do. - I've just finished listening to Show #133 and it's stunning. I was turned onto the Brain Damage Floydcast today and of course I have circulated the link to my nearest and dearest Floyd fans.
A big THANK YOU from an ageing rocker (first saw the Floyd live in 1970) - \"Make up for last week\"?
Rubbish! Doc, I love what you do and I demand you rescind your apology. As I wrote last week, no one is forced to download a show they\'re not interested in. And I think that if Pink Floyd or their record company need a tasteful archivist, it should be you. You understand posterity and sound QUALITY. Aces, in my book.
Despite my grumbling of last week, I do believe I\'ll download last week\'s \"repeat\" - to hear any new chatter you\'ve included. The chatter means more to me than you might think - my favorite, after the original Oakland show, is where you say boisterously and totally Bostony, \"Now I think I\'ll go and help myself to some refreshments!!\"
Feel free to take extra extra month-long time to come up with historical material.
Pink Floyd is incredibly popular, and their appeal travels through generations. But I truly feel sorry for people who have only heard the official releases. I wish everyone could hear this show, to hear just how AMAZING every \'70s version of \'Careful With That Axe, Eugene\' was, and just how ballsy the band was. Your work as a sound editor and archivist would show that to so many, and I commend you. - ..Thanks Doc,that was great,a real treat from start to finish. Ive heard a few pple say that Gilmours solo on 'A great day for freedom',the Gdansk version, must rate as one of his best recorded solos,& i think they're right, especially after veiwing the Dvd again.. Doc,i know you gave us the new-improved Oakland 77 show recently, but ide like to request the Madison square garden show ( 3rd July? ) from the 77 tour for a future show. I think its one of the only full shows originally featured on your terrestrial radio show that hasnt been er,podcasted? ( Is that the right word? ) Many thanks, Chris...
- Wow, just stunning. Thanks so much for doing this show. The *sound* quality of the Darkside side 2 material is amazing. Just a superb listen (and let me just at this point remember to give a big fat finger to any fascist losers from Lossless Land who might still deign to lord it over the mp3 treasures you present here. Long may they fester in their sorry puritanism).
Hearing this mix of these tracks is a dream come true. I've often watched the long version of "Pompeii" with the added 1973 studio material and wondered why some of the beautiful piano lines Rick lays down on "Us and Them" never made it through to the finished album. Likewise David's guitar work on "Brain Damage". But now here they are! I haven't stopped playing this since I downloaded it - many thanks again Doc.
