Show #80 Release date: 16. March, 2007

Pink Floyd's stellar performance at the legendary Filmore West in San Francisco, 29. April, 1970.

"Recorded on Pink Floyd's third American tour, this show introduced San Francisco to some of the newer material from the Ummagumma LP, and a taste of things soon to come on the Atom Heart Mother LP, to be released later that year. This San Francisco audience is particularly quiet and attentive, a fact that seems to have facilitated a more intimate, unique and focused performance than other dates on this tour" - Wolfgang's Vault.

  • I'd say the band, minus Nick Mason was good this show. Nick really messed up a bunch of fills this show. SQ is great though

  • Wonderful Podcast Doc; I think it\'s pretty cool that David\'s brother jams with him. I also wasn\'t aware of Roger\'s new Single. It\'s so cool that these guys in their 60\'s are still cranking out the hits. When we do lose them the music world will suffer a irreplaceable loss.
*Idea for a podcast-Floyd both individually and together have performed other artists material. ex. 11-10-87 Gilmour and Mason played R&B music at the New World Club, NY. Also, David did Hushabye Mountain in the Meltdown concert. How about a Podcast of Floyd doing non Floyd material? Anyway, Love your show & Keep Rockin\' Doc!

  • That's the first time I've heard Dave Gilmour sing the chorus of 'Grantchester Meadows'. Brilliant the way it goes into 'Astronomy Domine', too. What a way to start a gig.

  • Hi Doc,
I sent the London clipping, and since London your shows are all I have been listening to. Just got back from Mexico and spent a week exploring some of the older podcasts. You do great work in putting these together!!! Special request, Keep on Talking from Division Bell. Is there a live version that you could include in one of your shows???
    Thanks!!!

  • Doc, amazing, as always. Also, wanted to say thanks. Was listening to an older podcast last week, where you mentioned the BabyRockRecords.com website. I convinced my wife (who is 8 months pregnant) to let me get the Pink Floyd disc.

  • I am impressed with Roger\'s new tune. Thanks for playing it, Doc. I thought it was an old song at first. Then it kicked into the chorus, including the title, which I did know. Roger seems to be going back in time in ways. His sound is older, with the double tracked vocals. And he keeps making singles, again, like the 60\'s, instead of concept albums like he\'s known for.

  • I\'ve been playing this podcast on my iPod about three times. Keep up the good work. I\'ve been listening to some of the podcasts episodes and they\'re amazing! I was wondering if you got any responses from any members of Pink Floyd?
