Show #124 - Release date: 17. January 2009

The first podcast for 2009 comes from a suggestion of another Brain Damaged listener who thought it would be cool to have Floyd songs that appeal to children.  I think quite a bit of Floyd is suitable for children. They might not like it, but it won't hurt'em.  They may even love Pink Floyd.

This podcast is for the little one in your life.  Most of what's featured is early for it seems to have a more playful tone.  Part of the show consists of one long set with some cool sound effects thrown in.  This was a challenging theme and I hope I pulled it off.

1. Here I Go [David Gilmour, BBC"s Radcliffe and Maconie Programme, 9. December 2008]
2. Embryo [BBC's Top Gear, Paris Cinema, London, England, 16. July, 1970]
3. Night of a Thousand Furry Toys - Broken China
4. See Emily Play - "Arnold Lane” B-Side, Acetate #2
5. The Gnome - Piper at The Gates of Dawn (stereo version)
6. Effervescent Elephant – Barrett
7. Another Brick In The Wall (part 2) – Single
8. Mother (the film version)
9. Matilda Mother (alternate version) – Piper at The Gates of Dawn 40th
10. Breathe – Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Pink Floyd
11. On The Run [Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 17, March, 2007]
12. Learning To Fly [Stadio Delle Alpi, Torino, Italy  13. September 1994]
13. Take It Back (extended)
14. High Hopes [Royal Festival Hall, London, 18. January, 2002]
15. Mademoiselle Nobbs – Live In Pompeii
16. Bike – Piper at The Gates of Dawn (stereo version)

  • Could you make a podcast with the alternate Matilda Mother (sans crossfade) at the start? I want to isolate it and put it on my mp3 player. thanks.

  • Great to see you're still doing great! A wonderful podcast.
I'd also like to share a moment.
The other day my girlfriend of four years and new fiancee, who has been researching Floyd to become closer to me (God bless her) said to me "You know, I kind of like the older stuff better."
As we were listening to the Electric Factory podcats, she meant 1969-71.
While I enjoy their entire body of work, I don't think I've ever been prouder of any of my relationships. Maybe that's weird. But I LIKE IT!
