Show #122 - Release date: 14. November, 2008 Halloween has always been a flagship holiday in the jam band community, second only to New Year's Eve. And with a band like Gov't Mule, expecting something special is more than fair. Phish are attributed with getting the Halloween spirit going in the jam world with a performance of The Beatles' The White Album in its entirety on 10.31.94. Years later, we've seen costumes and covers of all colors and genres. But, on Halloween 2008, Mule outdid themselves with a second set packed full of Pink Floyd tunes from throughout the psychedelic pioneers' career.* Orpheum Theater, Boston, MA, 31. October, 2008. 01. - Doc, many many thanks for this tremendous gem of a show! My little sis introduced me to Mule a few years ago and I've been following them via live torrents since. While I was disappointed in the Blue Floyd release (how can ANYONE forget Floyd lyrics?!?), this show is right on! Good versions of SoYCD 1 and 2 made me especially happy. :) Another winner, Doc. Appreciate!
- Thanks. Excellent show. You should do more entire shows from PF cover bands, or in this case a band doing a show of PF covers!
I have a request. I know you have done several live 1977 shows, but I would love to hear the July 2nd \'77 show with the \"Doctored for Supersound\" treatment. I have listened to just about every Brain Damage show and I don\'t think you have covered that one. Over at Gilmourish.com, Bjorn Riis has just done an excellent article on Shine On, and even has a clip of himself playing a bit of Gilmour\'s solo from that show. There is some very cool playing in that show. - I loved it when the crowd applauded when Fearless came on and even sang along. Boston must be a real Floyd town, further evidenced by the crowd respectfulness during their Boston Garden show in 1977 and 1975.
I think if they played it where I live people would be scratching their heads thinking "This isn't on The Wall!"
Great show Doc
