Show #123 - Release date: 7. December 2008

The Division Bell Czech Republic Tour was an official leg during Floyd's European tour.  The band even had special, lavish tour programs made.  Unfortunately those programs never
arrived in time so many were destroyed.  This is a fairly decent recording of Floyd's first and only Czech concert appearance, 7. September 1994, Strahovsky Stadion, Prague, Czechoslovakia.

This will be the last podcast for 2008.  Thank you for all the kind words and for your continued support.  Best wishes to you for a happy holiday and a peaceful new year!

  • Doc,
Love your shows! I'm fairly new to your site and I must say that it's been a great trip so far. It'll be a while before I can get through all 87 shows but I'm sure the pleasure will be all mine.

I was wondering if you could possibly do your magic to the Sept. 16, 1987 Cleveland show. It would be great to hear a complete MLoR show with Echoes:)

    Keep up the great work!

  • Hi Dan, coming up! Matt, 'Albatross' is featured in the
"mule-o-ween" podcast. It's the opening track.

  • Hey, great work as always!! I have a request, see if you can work more of your magic...

David Gilmour played Fleetwood Mac's Albatross on Jools Holland's BBC Radio 2 show not so long ago (which can be heard on the website). Would you be able to include it in your next podcast? (or at all as a link?)

  • Just wondering what Santa brought you, Doc. Hopefully something good! I got a Best Buy gift card that I used to purchase an XBox 360. I'm 33 and it's my first gaming system since PS 1. My girlfriend got me the 40th Ann. Piper and a proper Ummagumma (my previous was used and scratched). I linked her to your site to get me some Brain Damage swag but I think she's a little leery of buying stuff online.

Just thought I'd shoot you a message. Happy New Years!

  • By the way, I have an idea for a upcoming podcast for what it's worth, since Pink Floyd is definitly associated with David's guitar playing, I think a podcasts about Dave's guitar work could be great, like putting together his best solos, or the best versions of it, for example the pulse comfortably numb, the bootlegging the bootleggers " ont the turning away", or the Wall tour "Mother"'s extended solo ( that's just my choice)... thank you

  • Hi doc, I would like to know if it was possible to listen to your previous podcasts? your list begins at show #39 I think, so where can I find the 38 previous shows? thank you!

  • Thanks guys for all the holiday wishes! I hope everyone is having a great holiday season.

    Mouloudo,
the 38 previous shows were on terrestrial radio, done live on the fly (improvised as I went along).
I never recorded the shows unfortunately. If I had, I would not be able to use them anyway as it would be property of the radio station. From time to time I do recreate the older radio shows for podcast.

  • Hi Doc, I could not imagine better choice for this year's final podcast! You've 100% fulfilled my wishes as I haven't heard this one and only czech gig before. I'm from Czech republic too, but I attended elementary school that time and the last thing I cared about was Pink Floyd.
Thanks again and see you next year!

  • Thank you Doc very much for this podcast. Nice Christmas present. I'm from the Czech republic, but I was too young to see Floyds alive at the stadium in 1994. But you gave me the possibility to taste the atmosphere of that show. Once more thanks a lot a and happy holidays to you.
