Show #89 Release date: 7. July, 2007

Here's a quick cast from Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  Roger just wrapped up his Live Earth concert appearance almost two hours ago.  During Another Brick In The Wall, a special white pig appeared with "Save Our Sausage" written on the side.

This was a great performance by Roger the band.  You can watch it on YouTube but please go to Liveearth.org instead to watch any concert on demand and answer the call... sign the commitment... make the pledge!

1. In The Flesh (truncated)
2. Money
3. Us and them
4. Brain damage
5. Eclipse
6. Happiest Days of Our Lives
7. Another Brick In The Wall (part 2) [with The El Bethel Baptist Church Youth Choir from Trenton, New Jersey]

For those going to see Roger Waters in Boston, Monday the 9th, I plan on being at Hurricane O'Reilly's, 150 Canal Street from 6pm to  8p.  I'll be hanging out and my radio station WAAF will be there with tickets to give away.  Here's a photo of me.  Look forward to meeting some of you hopefully.

  • It was great to see Roger hold down the second-to-last spot that PF had at Live 8. It seems like he tried NOT to repeat that performance. I admire him for singing Money on his own. That song is like his baby. The highlight of the set for me, besides Rog getting down with the school kids, had to be Snowy and Dave tearing into the 1st solo in Money together. That was the best musicianship of the night. You just have to love Roger, the legendary sour-puss, up there in front of the world smiling, dancing and rocking those Pink Floyd classics.

  • Hey Doc, how about a podcast of total Floyd randomness? Just a bunch of Floyd and Floyd-related songs with no rhyme or reason, jumping all over the chronology, including album songs, live songs, everything. You could have Arnold Layne next to a live version of On The Turning Away, followed by Pigs on the Wing, then a Roger solo song, and then something from Ummagumma. You know, just...randomness. That would be the theme. Just a random smattering of Floyd songs to listen to stoned for a couple hours.

  • I thought it was hilarious when Roger tried to bust a move with those kids during Brick. He's an old British white guy, but I had to laugh because he did it earnestly and with a big smile. Heck, seeing Roger SMILE on stage is a pretty recent invention ;P
