  • Well done, Doc. I think his performance on this show was better than the one I saw in Vancouver, BC. I enjoyed the live very much, though. Keep up the good work. I always look forward to your new broadcast.

  • hahaha ;)) lovely intro. strangely familiar. "no kangaroos in austra", they print this on shirts around where I live. and funnily enough a DG replica guitar strap took a lenghty side trip to down under before it found its way home. well anyway.

you gradually educate and sharpen my senses for roger's work, and I am very happy to say that I very much love this podcast!

    cheers,

Don't let them f**k it all up
For you and the rest of the world"

[with little bit of change in lyrics]

    Go out there and vote...

    Thanks for the podcast Doc,
    Like always, memorable and great

  • Too true Michael, too true. Old habits can be hard to give up.

Your note reminds me though - I meant to thank the Doc for including David's acceptance speech during the set break.

I hadn't heard that before and it took me by surprise! I got all choked up at work!

Thanks Doc - keep up the great work!

  • ..Great show Doc,already had it but good to hear it 'Doctored.'Love the cock-up by Snowy White at the beginning of Shine On..I actually quite like Rogers version of Set The Controls on this tour.I know we all love the late 60s/early 70s psychedelic mind-fuck live version,(Nick at his best!)but would these guys really get away with that in 07/08? I wonder if Rog will ever get 'Eugene' out of the closet again & dust it off? 31 yrs & counting, now that would be weird.Oh & Doc,i know your giving this tour a rest for a while, but when it does return, how bout 1 of Rog's festival appearances,Hyde Park Calling 06,Rock in Rio 06,or Coachella 08? Maybe would have a slightly different 'sound?'..

  • Syd, a gift from God, is Dead.

Richard, not a 'Class Act', but pure CLASS with NO 'act' has left the building.

Nick Mason is going SOMEWHERE--really,really fast.

David is 'the Voice & the Guitar of...Pink Floyd'

Roger, is the 'Creative Genius of ...Pink Floyd' (who could doubt that...?)

A PROPOSAL : as a community whose Soul is nourished by Floyd's ART, lets purpose to let a few old sqaubles die (with our friends)...

After all, hasn't it really ALL been something of a GIFT....?

  • I'll listen to that soprano solo anyday as long as I never have to hear Scott Page butcher one of Dick Perry's great PF sax solos again.
I can't listen to DSOT just because of him!

    Great show Doc! Thanks!

  • Third time lucky. It turns out it was just my computer playing up and it sounds like it's all there now.

    Cheers Doc.

  • Try deleting your temp files. That should do the trick.

  • Maybe its just my computer not downloading it right but has anyone else found that the podcast stops at the end of Bring the Boys Back Home?

I'll try downloading it again. Hopefully it's just my computer having a funny half hour, for a change.

  • Doc,

this was a fine cast....really great that you include David's 'toast' to Richard....

...also, the sound is Spot-on & 'Alive'....

... my friends are amazed by 'New' ( Doctored ) Floyd I produce when we gather....

Thanks for making my Floyd collection the envy of 'The Boys'.........

  • Roger ought to be charged with crimes against humanity for unleashing that soprano sax solo on Set the Controls. Way to destroy one of the coolest songs ever!

Someone make Roger watch Pompeii and relearn how to play that tune before it happens again.

posted by: Tofer on 2008-10-20 14:17:00

  • Oh come on now Tofer... Why don't you tell us how you really feel? It's "Roger's" song. I suppose he can do whatever he wants with it.
