Show #83 Release date: 27. April, 2007

At the end of one of my older podcasts, I quickly gave my cell phone number.   Nobody noticed and months went by until a gentleman from Philadelphia called me up.  He left a message and in the message he mentioned something that sparked the entire reason for this podcast.  He shares with us his experience "seeing" Pink Floyd play live at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, 2. • Up to the usual high standard doc. I saw the Division Bell Tours in July 1994, in the grounds of a french chateaux, Chateaux De Chantilly, a huge natural amphitheater just outside Paris. Sadly the memory oh which tracks were played has faded, so any help in remembering would be so cool.
A question for you doc. I also have a recoriong of the Turino convcert on the same tour, and on listening to both recordings, am struck by the sound effects added to the start of Money. Is there a reason why this was done? Also on the Turino concert David cracks up in laughter at something, probably Guy up to something. Worth a listen to if you can get it.
    Cheers

  • Very good show as usual Doc!
Btw what is the interesting blues tone at the end of the previous podcast \"Soundtracks - Part 2\"?

  • Not sure what everybody else thinks - but that might be the best version of Comfortably Numb I've heard from the '94 tour! Any other candidates?

  • I was at this show, and was blown away when they opened with Astronomy Domine. This year on June 2, 13 years to the day of this show, I will be at Roger Waters, 3'rd row center in Philly! Keep it up, Doc!

  • This is an amazing show! I was wondering if you could please do an Atom Heart Mother show that was recorded in Lund, Sweden on March 20, 1970
and probably some Japanese Floyd podcasts tours when the Floyd toured in Japan

Festival Hall Osaka August 9, 1971 and Mar. 9, 1972

    Hakone Aphrodite August 6, 1971

  • Thanks for another great podcast Doc, really enjoyed this one :)

If possible could you please do some solo Waters concerts from the 80's? It's something I'd really like to hear.

    Thanks again!

  • Wow, this is an extraordinarily energetic concert. To my ears, some post-Waters live performances sound like there's a "conflict in tempo", with the younger guys trying to "push" it while the older guys playing more lax; this show sounds like they're all playing as a unit (and enjoying themselves).

I didn't realize a version of Gotta Be Crazy like that was out there; that must be what David was talking about when he said Roger "originally had too many words to sing". Musically it sounds like a missing evolutionary link between Dogs and some of the BBC performances like Careful With That Axe Eugene or Embryo.

As for not seeing what's happening on the stage, when we listen to podcats, we're all in the same boat. :)

  • Nice with another \'94 podcast! I\'m a sucker for sound coming from the 3-man Floyd.

A request: Could you maybe do more shows from Gilmours On An Island Tour?

    Greetings from Denmark!
