  • Amazing, Doc, the early Roger solo career was awesome, before he starting just making concerts with Floyd songs. The live Pros and Cons has Clapton in it?

  • Just discovered this awesome archive. Thanks Doc. I have may hours of pleasure to come.
Suggestions for 2007 : resurrect the singles shoe (WMFO5 ?) I lost some of these years ago.
Talking of years - just heard Ravin &Drooling for the first time since Newcastle Odeon in '74. Despite years of Sheep I recalled every note. And they say the weed damages the memory,

  • I haven't listened to Pros & Cons or KAOS for some years and for the first time today (heh) it really struck me how weak the first half of Pros & Cons is. It's a derivative and repetetive dirge. Fortunately it really picks up with Go Fishing and then the title track and Every Strangers Eyes are some of Rog's best work.

As for KAOS, I listened to this incessently about 15 years ago, and this live performance really rekindled my interest in it. There's some great melodies on KAOS. Amused to Death had a lot of songs where he's ramming more lyrics in without the music to support them (like Pros & Cons and to a lesser extent The Final Cut), but there's more balance with KAOS. It's a shame more people didn't get to the shows, because the Home/ Four Minutes/ The Tide Is Turning finale sent shivers up my spine.

I remember he said he intended to bring the show down here to Australia, but there wasn't any interest. Hope he digs out a song from KAOS when he's down here in Feb.

    Cheers for the podcast, Doc!

  • Great podcast - in the spirit of KAOS, any chance you could do a podcast of the Project KAOS album? It's an 'extended version' in the vein of Every Brick In The Wall.

  • Cheers for that Griff.

  • The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking

In 1984, Waters went on tour to promote the album with Eric Clapton in North America, which consisted of almost all sold out shows. The beginning of the concert consisted of Pink Floyd numbers, and in the second half they performed the entire album. Clapton left the tour after its 1984 leg, and Waters hired Jay Stapley to play guitar for the 1985 leg.

  • Does anyone know who played lead guitar on the Pros and Cons tour?

  • Thanks for posting this Doctor, I don't own either of the albums :D

Keep up the good work, much appreciated.

  • I was at both of these shows (or at least the venues - I need to dig out my old tickets to check the actual dates). I'd missed The Wall shows, so Pros & Cons was my first live experience of Floyd. The KAOS show was better. Just downloaded and looking forward to hearing them for the first time since, but I agree with the other posters - it would have been great to hear the full shows. There were some interesting versions of Floyd songs, and I remember some interesting stuff in KAOS, such as a Q&A session between the audience and RW via a simulated radio show.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Nice one. I'm a die-hard Waters fan, so I was psyched to see this.

Honestly though, I thought the Pros & Cons part of the podcast was disappointingly weak. I like that album, but for some reason it seemed to fall flat here live. Maybe it has something to do with the sound quality, or the fact that it's just a really "unusual" album, but I wasn't impressed here.

KAOS live, however, is great! Does the album justice. I'm wondering, would it be possible to put up a whole show from the KAOS tour at some point? I've seen some setlists from the tour, and apparently he mixed in Floyd songs like If, Welcome to the Machine, and Nobody Home with the KAOS material, all with Jim Ladd's radio interludes of course. From what I've gathered, it was Roger's best live tour, at least up until this most recent one anyway. I'd be dying to hear a complete performance from that tour. If not, keep up the great work anyway. Your show kicks mucho ass.

  • I was wondering if there was any live material for the Pros & Cons of Hitch Hiking tour... But where's the rest of the show? I recall hearing a version of Money from the same tour, Eric Clapton was INSANE during the solo... But we do get Radio KAOS also, so that's good.
