Hello! It's now just a week from today, I'll be in Birmingham followed by Manchester, UK for two more gripping Wall shows. I never imagined I'd be back in the UK so soon. I can't thank Barry BURBs enough for his assistance in getting me over. Barry used to produce and present a weekly podcast called, "BURBs Pod" which featured British underground rock music. This will be a quick one for me... I fly into London on the 27th and back to Boston on the 29th. It's unlikely I'll be recording these shows. Hopefully someone will step up and bang out a top notch, quality recording. Anyway... if you see a tall guy with long hair and a baseball on backwards, its me. I hope to see you there! - 27. - @Steve
I must be extremely lucky. I have recorded about a dozen gigs at the MEN (including last night) with no problem - and I am not particularly careful. The security was more concerned with stopping blokes going into the female toilets last night!
Now that phones can double as high quality recording devices I think that there will be less focus on this. There is recordingof 28th (not mine) on Y! at present. - christ u could of taken a bomb nto the o2! went on 14th, 10 minuites late n asked if it had sta. ted guy sed theyre running 20 mns late, hurry up, n never even opened the wallet fae ticket master, cuda been empty, and was caught smokin weed, n jist told too put it out!!?? was confiscated tho, those coloured security were cool as feck, went on 18th too, wasnt best seats so told the stuard, that mi m8 was my bro from oz, n they gott us better seats!!!, pity londons the rudest unhelpfull city ive ever been too! scotty aberdeen 2 bus journeys(from hell) 2 train journeys waaay better, n about at least a 1000 miles. with bus detours n crap but sooooo worth it. word o warnin if u do fancy a few days there DONT GO AT THE WEEKEND AS 1 HOTEL OWNER SED T BECOMES THE CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSE!! but the good news for mi 2 bros in perth oz hes goin there too, a third shows wat am thinkin!! peace out doc, n plz keep up the gud work!! yer scottish chum scotty.
- i hope to see you at manchester doc.i was at the may manchester gig and cant find a recording of this show any where,so i hope someone will record this show.imagine seeing two wall shows and having no recordings of any.i will look out for a baseball on backwards.hope to see you.harry
You will be extremely lucky to get ANYTHING resembling recording equipment in to the MEN Manchester...it's like Airport Security.
We were there on the 21st May ( going again 28/06) and a bit in front of us the Security Guards found a guy with something resembling one of those old fashioned Dictaphone machines with the mini cassettes....they took his ticket from him and turned him away.
He was in tears and the line was not happy...why not just hang on to the machine ?
Apparently they have the right to do this.
So if you are going to risk it, please be very careful.
Steve- Hey there Doc - long time no hear.Been having to avoid the 'cast and nearly every Floyd site going to avoid any spoilers 'bout the shows ( apart from the setlist 'natch)Then I got virused badly at the start of the year, and i'm still trying to get my pc back as was, this is the first time I've popped in in an age.I'll be at the Birmingham show, hope to get a chance to meet you in the flesh before hand.C U Monday!
